Hannah and Em come to say hello :)

MLK weekend, Steph and Bert took their youth to Pigeon Forge for a retreat.  So, Emmy and Hannah got to spend the weekend with Mimi and Papa Stan.  It was super fun b/c we got to see them a few times that weekend.  They stopped by to pick up dinner one night and Jacob was soooooo excited to see them!  Here is Hannah Beth, who will turn one on Valentine's!

Emily had to help Jacob play with his blocks.  You can see that they pulled out every toy we own :)
Jacob loves to make Hannah crawl after him.  It is super cute now b/c she will follow him out of the room and he grins from ear to ear.
So proud of Hannah for almost walking!  She pulls right up and isn't afraid at all!  Aunt Katherine and Uncle Brett (and Jacob too) love you sweet girls like you were our own!

Yard Golfing with Daddy

Jacob had always loved to "go" golfing at the golf course and take Brett's golf balls, but until a couple of weeks ago, he had never actually tried golfing himself.  Brett loves to chip around in the yard and we were all outside last weekend playing in the sunshine.  Jacob grabbed a golf ball and then started pitching a FIT to have one of Brett's clubs.  He gave it to him and then Jacob put the ball down and tried to swing!  It ended up with him spinning in a circle with the club in the air, but it was still cute :)

Taking some practice swings with Dada.
Trying to swing all by himself.
He was all smiles when he and Brett would swing together.

I think he'll definitely be ready for putt putt by the summer!  Ha!
 Good stance!

We love our little guy so much!

Play Dough Fun!

The sweet ladies that teach Jacob's Sunday school class were telling us how much he loved playing with the playdough in class.  It hadn't really dawned on me that he would enjoy play dough yet, but he sure does!  We went to Walmart with Nana (Brett's mom) and she hooked Jacob up with some playdough!
Here he is playing with it on his little table.  He likes to take the play dough out of the container and then put it back in.  He repeats this a MILLION times!  It is so funny!

His favorite way to play is sitting on top of the table.  I wasn't sure about this, but Brett really thought it was fine :)  I guess daddies have to let their boys do "dangerous" things :)

Having so much fun playing with play dough on top of my table!  Now that he can climb up on things, I cannot let him out of my sight for 5 seconds!  He loves to sneak in to this room and get up on top of the table :)

Girls Night in Clemson

Brett took a position as youth pastor this past fall at First Baptist Church Toccoa.  This January, we decided to start having "girls night out".  Our first outing was to Clemson's FCA on Thursday, Jan 10th.  It meets at 9:19, so we left Toccoa early to get some pizza at Mellow Mushroom and see a little bit of campus.  The girls had a GREAT time and really enjoyed the worship and speaker.  Funny side note:  when the speaker was introducing himself, he stated that he now lived in Atlanta, Ga.  He said he brought a friend with him from ATL who was not a Clemson fan, but a Georgia fan.  Madison Alligood takes that as her cue to yell "Go Dawgs!"  Some of the other girls quickly added "whooooo".  A thousand CLEMSON college students gasped, stared, and them BOOED the girls!  Then the speaker led the group in the Clemson cadence count!  Later the girls were like "Whoa!  We really made a mistake cheering for the bulldogs in that group!  It was like a cult the way they broke out into that cheer!"  Hilarious!  Good thing we all love Jesus :)

Lightning McQueen & Toilet Paper

Nana & Papa bought Jacob a Lightning McQueen car to push and ride around.  They gave it to him a little early (back in November) so that he could enjoy playing with it before Christmas.  For the first month, he really loved just pushing it.  Since then, he pushes, pulls, flips it over, and rides on it.  It was so precious when he started throwing that little leg over and pushing it around.

Jacob's other favorite thing to do is pull the toilet paper off the roll.  Then he'll drag it around the house and tear it into pieces.  Therefore, we hide all the toilet paper.  When I say "mommy's going to go potty" he runs into the bathroom with me because he knows I'll have to get the toilet paper out! Then he begs for some to play with.  Sweet boy!

It's so much fun to rip it into tiny little pieces!

Greenville Children's Museum

So, Jacob and I loved the children's museum so much that we decided to go again two weeks after our first trip.  This time, we brought Daddy, Nana, & Papa along for the ride.  As you can see, he was having a blast in the car making faces at Nana in the back.

Stop #1:  Grocery Store.  He was even more determined this time and was jogging sometimes with the grocery cart.  Amazingly, he managed to avoid running into people as he was jogging.

Daddy helping Jacob shop.

This was actually pretty cool, but Jacob wasn't impressed.

Again, he was a little wierded out by the "farting" intestinal slide (as Grady and Clark like to say).
I think Brett thought this exhibit was cooler than Jacob did.
. . . and down we go to the lily pond!
Splash splash splash right from the get-go!

Stopping for a mommy hug.

Filling up his water cups just like in the bathtub :)

I love this one!
Nana and Papa thought it was so cute!
Family shot at the recording studios.  Jacob will think that is cool some day soon.

Playing the xylophone.
Grandma Betty's farm for sliding time.  He knew exactly what to do this time and walked right over to the slide.  We took his socks off so he could go faster on the slide, but it made it really difficult to walk up the ramp.

Brett built him some really cool structures with these soft blocks.  I was just a little worried about them falling on his head, but Brett said they wouldn't hurt :)

Beep Beep in the recycling truck.
We had such a great time!  Jacob didn't get home for a nap until 2pm, but he was in the best mood the entire time with all the people in the car.
