Watts come over for dinner :)

Late in the spring, Brett and I decided to cook a feast with ribs and all the trimmings.  We LOVE to have Steph, Bert, Emily, and Hannah over so we invited them too!  Bert's sister Allison was even able to make it as well!  Here we are waiting on uncle Brett to get done grilling.
Chloe waits by the grill hoping to get a bite :)
Emily found a concrete block to be her "stool."  It was so cute!

Here is our yummy feast!  We sure to miss having the Watt's here to share so many meals.  It was such a blessing to share 4 years together up here!

First Time on the Swing & Flat Stanley

On a day in April, Brett and I decided it was time for Jacob to have his first swing ride.  Since we live right next door to the church, we were able to walk over to the play ground and swing there.  Here we are telling him we are going to go.  He's not actually excited, he just smiles whenever the red light on the camera comes on!

We thought we would take his cousin Grady's Flat Stanley along too.  We had to take pictures of the paper Stanley doing all kinds of adventures and then let Grady know what "Flat Stanley" did in NC.  So, flat Stanley went for a stroller ride.
And then went to church. . .
J baby LOVED swinging and had this happy face the entire time!  It was soooooo fun to see ho much he liked it.

Flat Stanley decided to swing too. ..
and went for a ride on Chloe :)  Fun times on Bethlehem Church Rd!

Spring Break in Georgia: Roberts version

During spring break, we got to spend some great time at Mimi & Papa Stan's.  Jacob loved playing with all our old toys. . . especially uncle Stan's old boat!  Emmy was there as well as Steph and Bert were in Greenville for the weekend, so it was extra fun for Jacob!

Em was showing him how the boat works.

So happy to be at Mimi and Papa Stan's!

Nana & Papa are going to New Zealand!

Brett's parents are retiring this year from teaching and are excited about getting to start this next phase of their lives.  To celebrate, the three Sanders boys decided to get a great gift for their parents.  All his life, Brett's dad has talked about taking a trip to New Zealand.  Brett said that he know everything about New Zealand and really had always dreamed of going there.  So. . . for their retirement, Clint, Brett, and Blake went in and planned a trip for the two of them.  Below, they are opening their luggage (at this point, they didn't know anything about the trip yet).  They had also purchased a camper recently, so they just thought that the luggage would be for their camping adventures!
Inside one of the bags was a beautiful picture that Blake did of his parents when they had just begun teaching.
Nana found the inner bag, but still hasn't discovered the trip. . .

Finally!  They find the trip itinerary and are SHOCKED!  They were so suprised!

Jacob watching all the action. . .

I sure hope Jacob and all his future siblings love and respect Brett and me the way these guys love their parents.
Raelyn hanging out with uncle Brett on the swing.  It was such a fun night!

Spring Break with the Sanders

Over my spring break from high school, Brett, Jacob, and I went on a trip to GA.  We left Thursday morning really early and came back late Sunday night.  Jacob was great in the car and hardly fussed at all.  He was starting to sleep lots less in the car by then, but still remained pleasant.  As you can tell, Nana was soooooo happy to get her hands on Jacob!

Uncle Blake came in for dinner Saturday night and got some Jacob time.  He is so great with kids!  Raelyn, Grady, and Clark always loved him. . . and Jacob does too!

Raelyn loves to hold her baby cousin :)  She will be a SUPER baby sitter in a year or two!

There is a video that Clarkie made on Brett's phone entitled "Shake your booty."  Jacob always laughs out loud when we show him the video of Clarkie shaking his booty.  So. . . Clark had to try it out and see if Jacob would laugh in person.  Didn't work, but it was funny to the rest of us.
Making his fight face. . .

Hanging out with Uncle Clint.

Nana and Papa and all the grandbabies.
Silly picture time!  Jacob LOVED getting to watch his older cousins interact and teach him how to play with all the great toys.  It was such a good time with family--our longest visit in over a year.  We are so thankful to have such great relationships with our parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and in-laws.  Love you all and miss you so much!

Fishing at the Martin's

One of the families that we have really gotten to know well up in NC is the Martin family.  Mrs. Carrie is the mother of Kim (Pace), Greta (White), and Mikkey Martin.  They have us over all the time for Sunday dinner and insist that we are invited to their annual fishing day after Easter.  We have gone two years now, and this year we took Jacob too!  Reagan is especially good at catching fish on her Mickey Mouse pole!
Here is Phillis hanging out with little one.

Greta was sure that Jacob could catch a fish if he just had the right pole. . .

Brett had the most fun of all and caught lots of fish!

Bye Bye Mimi and Papa Stan

Right before they left on Sunday, we took a great picture!  So cute!

Emily Turns 2

The weekend of April 8th, we celebrated Emmy's 2nd birthday and Stephanie's 29th.  Ha ha!  Aunt Steph is almost 30 :)  So anyways, Papa Stan & Mimi came up from GA to help celebrate.  Here is Em eating her cake.  She wasn't sure about everyone watching her.

Here I am feeding Jacob his 4 pm meal.  He was really enamored with the baloons and party decorations and could hardly eat.

Being shy!

Before the night was over, we had to get one cousins picture.  It is funny how big Jacob is compared to his girl cousins!
Here is Jacob checking out Emily.  Hannah looks a little miserable :)
We finally had to reach in when Jacob started elbowing Hannah in the throat!

Hanging out with Papa Stan on Saturday morning.
It is so fun to play with grandparents!  We had such a fun time with family time that weekend.  Steph and Bert moved away from Wake Forest at the end of May and it has made us really appreciate the time that we had together.  And. . . Mimi and Papa Stan came up lots lots lots when all the grandkids were in one town!
