Daddy Snuggles

Just wanted to do a quick post about how much Jacob loves his daddy!  Here they are playing with the ipad.  Jacob is apparently paying attention because he "accidently" called Mimi on face time at 6:45 am.  We didn't realize he had done it until we heard Mimi say, "Well hey!  What time did you wake up, Jacob?!"  He woke her up and we were like "oh my gosh!" He clicked on the icon and then picked an email to call.  Unbelievable!
Putting PJs on after bath time.  We are still wearing the Christmas pajamas because they are 2T and still fit!  I don't care if they do have Santas on them, we don't waste clothes that fit around here!

Camp Pinnacle with BCM

Brett was asked by his former college ministers to preach their winter retreat for North GA BCM.  He was so glad to do it and Jacob and I came along for part of the trip.  The retreat was at Camp Pinnacle in Clayton, GA and it was super cold that weekend (1st weekend in Feb).  It actually snowed on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Jacob likes to go to bed around 7:30 each night and the first night's lesson didn't start until 9pm.  So. . . before we got there I just thought I was going to be on lock down in the one bedroom hotel room with Jacob.  I knew he wouldn't fall asleep if he could see me, so I was just going to be super quiet and hide under the covers with our ipad!  However, they hooked us up with this awesome little suite, so I got to read in the den after Jacob went to sleep in the bedroom at 7:30!  Super awesome chill night!
Jacob had so much fun playing with James and Beth's daughter Emma.  She was so sweet to him!

Jacob and I cam back to Toccoa on Saturday afternoon before the snow came in.  We decided to camp at Mimi and Papa Stan's for the night while Brett finished the retreat.  It was a great time with dear friends!

Bubble Man

Jacob Man loooooves bubbles!  It was one of his first words along with "pop" for when he popped the bubbles :)  Here he is playing bubbles with his daddy.  Bubbles are the magic key to getting sweet boy happy if he is upset.

His favorite thing to do now is to try to run into them and pop them with his nose!
Look at that face!  I'm super happy that this fun is so cheap!  Bubbles are definitely on the birthday/Christmas lists now :)

Swinging in the Park

We have this super fun park that we go to with Jacob that is very close to our house.  Brett usually comes with us and pushes Jacob in the stroller while we walk.  Physical Therapy wants me to walk or ride a bike 5-6 days a week, but I can't go walking by myself as I can't push Jacob in the stroller yet.  So, we only get to go to the park if daddy comes!
Jacob LOVES to swing when we get there and is actually a little impatient about going to the playground.  As soon as we pull in the parking lot, he starts yelling like, "I BETTER GET TO SWING, PEOPLE!"
As you can see he is happy happy happy! (yes I love Duck Dynasty!)
Daddy and Jacob get a little high for my liking, but Brett promises that he can't fall out.  :)
Sometimes I make a little scene and yell "Oh my gosh!" if it looks like he is getting too high.  Brett will shoot me a look like, "Let him be a little boy!!!!"  Guess he might not be a daredevil if it were up to me :)

Taking Showers

Jacob Isaiah LOVES it when Brett or I take a shower.  This is probably because this kiddo lives for the water!  He loved swimming this past summer and "bath" was one of the first words that he got really excited about.  So, when ever sweet boy hears the water running for the shower, he scampers into the bathroom to get in on the action.  Here are pictures from a typical shower time!
Jacob runs in, leans down to grab one of his baby cups, and then tries to fill it up with the little that is dripping from the faucet.  In the meantime, his hair and body get completely soaked from the water coming from above!  Then, he proceeds to dump what he has filled in his cup on himself.  He has a ball and gets SOAKED!  You can see in the pic above he is soaked all the way up to his shoulder!
 Completely wet in the front!
The hair is drenched too!  Normally we end up having to change his clothes too.  He insists on pulling the shower curtain open when someone is in there so we try to take showers when Jacob is otherwise busy!  I take mine during his naptime and Brett takes his before Jacob is awake or I'm feeding him breakfast.  Needless to say, that isn't always then case, and then Jacob has some water FUN!

Mommy's Helper :)

There are lots of tasks around the house that Jacob likes to "help" with.  When I am loading/unloading the dishwasher, he likes to help me take everything out of the dishwasher!  The funny thing is that he only picks out HIS stuff to load/unload.  He picks through the silverware and only grabs his spoons.  Then he searches out his plates.
Unfortunately, a couple of months ago he learned to open the dishwasher by himself.  It is hard for him to walk by it without opening it!  He also knows how to push the levels back in and close the dishwasher.  The other day, I caught him trying to squirt butter into the spot for dish washing liquid!

 Getting his baby spoon :)
The other thing he likes to help with is the laundry.  He likes to pull the clothes out of the dryer once they are dry. . . onto the floor.  :)  If the dryer door is open, he MUST close it!  He also loves to help me transfer the wet clothes from the washer to the dryer.  I'll hand him a sock, and then I'll put a big handful in while he is working on the sock.  It's the only thing that keeps the door open. . . otherwise, he's slamming it shut!
He knows when I say "close it". . .
that he gets to slam it shut!  Sweet boy!
