We decided that we would pair Jacob's birthday celebration with a trip to GA so that all the grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins could come! We stopped one night to stay with Steph and Bert on our way down, and then arrived in Toccoa on the day of his party. Jacob was WORN out! He had taken a short morning nap and then was taking a great afternoon nap when Heather, Trey and Lauren arrived. They had come early to give him presents and say hey! Since they had driven an hour and a half to get to us (at least), I was feeling bad that Jacob was still sleeping when they got there. They were only going to stay 2 hours anyway, so after he slept for 30 mins after they got there, I thought it would be okay to wake him up. WRONG. He cried from the minute he woke up and never really recovered! I think it was the combination of teething/exahustion/ being in a new place, but he was not happy the rest of the afternoon evening. He certainly didn't care it was his birthday celebration :)

All of the cousins wanted to help Jacob with his presents. Since he really didn't care at this age, we let them all take turns and open the gifts for him. Grady was really excited about the batman slide he had gotten for him!
Ha! Here is the little garage that Heather got Jacob. As you can see, he was ignoring all his other gifts and playing with her's.
Nana & Papa got him the cutest train set.
My sweet boy!
We thought he might like the cake, but he was just too tired/fussy for fun. For those that are around Jacob alot, they know it was really unlike him to be sooooo fussy like he was.
Starting to cry. . .
Get me out of here!
To end the evening with a bang, Jacob fell on the coffee table and busted his lip. First bleeding injury to Jacob and I was a little keyed up about it! Brett told me there were many more to come!
Poor pumpkin!
Now he's smiling! We still had a great time even though he was a little tired and were so thankful to be able to celebrate with family!
